Researchers’ Night 2025 at UJEP: Riches waiting to be discovered
This year, UJEP will once again take part in the nationwide Researchers’ Night event, which will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025. This year’s theme is “Wealth” – not only material wealth, but also that hidden in nature, knowledge, technology, and health. A varied program full of experiments, discoveries, and fun awaits you, showing that science is a real treasure.
The doors of the Department of Biology at the Za Válcovnou campus will open in the morning. At the Center for Biological and Environmental Sciences, starting at 9:00 a.m., you can take a look into the world of nature – learn about the richness of biodiversity with colleagues from the Ústí nad Labem Zoo, discover the diverse strategies of insects, find out how our senses differ genetically, or admire the world’s flora in cooperation with the Teplice Botanical Garden. The program at the Department of Biology runs until 4:00 p.m.
The main part of the program starts at 5:00 p.m. at the UJEP Campus. The most lively events will take place in the CPTO (Center for Natural Sciences and Technical Fields) and CEMMTECH (Center for Materials, Mechanics, and Technologies) buildings. What can you look forward to?
In the laboratories, you can experience the experimental chemistry show Mystery of Chemical Reactions, find treasure under a UV lamp, or learn how to isolate DNA. You will learn what treasures are hidden inside computers and test your courage in an escape game. There will also be a trip into history – you will learn about old writing and family trees. And because health is one of the greatest treasures, there will also be a UJEP ambulance with first aid demonstrations, a foot diagnosis station, and simulation aids for occupational therapy.
Every true explorer deserves a reward – so a social and cultural program awaits visitors. On the square in front of the CPTO building, you can look forward to a concert by the band Steven’s, which will set the right mood for the evening. And because a pleasant experience also includes good food and drink, refreshments will be available right on campus.
The Night of Scientists at UJEP is intended for children, students, parents, and seniors. Admission is free, and an evening full of inspiration, fun, and learning awaits you.
