European Sustainable Development Week is currently taking place at UJEP
J. E. Purkyně University has joined the European Sustainable Development Week (ETUR) for the fourth time. You can look forward to traditional events such as the SWAP for (un)needed items, as well as a range of more environmentally friendly dishes on offer in the canteen.
European Sustainable Development Week is taking place at UJEP from 1 to 9 October 2026. Throughout the week, you can visit or take part in a wide variety of events across the campus.
SWAP of (un)needed items in the CPTO foyer
Bring along items from your home that you no longer need and take away something you can still use – small items, books or clothes.
Items that are not taken from the SWAP will be donated to the Re-use Centre Ústí nad Labem, z.s. or used in the next round of the university’s SWAP.
You can visit the swap at any time during the opening hours of the CPTO (Centre for Natural Sciences and Technical Studies).
Environmentally friendly dining in the canteen
You can enjoy more environmentally friendly meals in the canteen. Every day during ETUR, there will be a plant-based, vegetarian or fish dish on the menu, typically listed as item 3 on the daily menu (we recommend pre-ordering at least one day in advance).
The CPTO canteen is open to students, staff and the general public.
Sustainable World Café: Together we are creating a more responsible UJEP: UJEP canteen lounge, Wednesday 7 October 2026 from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm
Come and join us for a coffee and a cake to discuss specific proposals for activities we can carry out together to make UJEP more sustainable.
We’ll be building on the results of the UJEP sustainability questionnaire from this April, but we’d also welcome new ideas from all active members of the university community.
You can find more information about the whole week on the UJEP website.
