CreaThon – HACKITHON 2026: 24 hours of coding, creativity, and chaos
The Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Science, UJEP, together with the Department of Data Analysis and Simulation (ODAS), is organizing the sixth edition of the popular 24-hour hackathon. The event is open to high school and college students who want to create practical open-source applications based on data processing in a team competition.
The event will take place on May 22–23, 2026, in the CPTO building on the UJEP campus in Ústí nad Labem. Participants will experience teamwork, programming under time pressure, and solving real-world technological challenges.
Prior to the start, there will be specialized workshops focused on key technologies. Mentors will be available to participants throughout the event to provide technical and organizational support.
Each team will choose one of four competition tasks—this year’s topics include a web application based on open data, an AI customer chat, a VR game for cognitive therapy, or a voice-based conversational agent in Czech. Teams will present their solutions to a panel of experts at the end.
Modern technical facilities, refreshments throughout the event, and relaxation areas will be available. The event will offer not only a competitive atmosphere but also opportunities for networking and meeting representatives from both the academic and industry sectors.
The best teams have the chance to win cash prizes and the opportunity to establish collaborations for the further development of their projects. All participants will receive a certificate and a ribbon.
