Discover the mathematics program at the Faculty of Science, UJEP, through the eyes of students and faculty members
In our video series, in which we’re gradually introducing the departments of the Faculty of Science at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, today we’ll take you to the Department of Mathematics. If you’re currently choosing a college or considering further studies, these short videos can help you get to know the various fields of study better and choose the one that best suits your interests and future plans.
Students, together with faculty members, will guide you through the Department of Mathematics, introduce you to the degree programs and what classes are like, discuss the career opportunities available to graduates, and give you a sense of the department’s atmosphere. You’ll discover that mathematics isn’t just about numbers, formulas, and calculations, but above all about logical thinking, identifying connections, and the ability to solve problems. It helps us understand the world around us and finds applications in a wide range of fields—from science and technology to everyday life.
