The L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” program announces its 20th anniversary

The L’ORÉAL-UNESCO “For Women in Science” program is announcing a call for young women scientists as part of its 20th anniversary in the Czech Republic. This project aims to highlight the key role of women in the scientific world and overcome the prejudices that still hold them back. A total of CZK 600,000 will be distributed among the three talented laureates from the call. Applications can be submitted until April 30, 2026.

The “For Women in Science” talent program was first implemented in the Czech Republic in 2006 and annually recognizes promising women scientists selected by an expert jury. The program cooperates with the Czech Commission for UNESCO and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Since the beginning of the program, 53 women have already been awarded.

The basic criteria for meeting the conditions of the call are as follows:

Ph.D. degree
The program is open to scientists from the following scientific fields: Physical Sciences, Formal Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Technology and Life and Environmental sciences. A complete list can be found HERE.
Maximum age 40 years (inclusive).
Scientific project implemented in the Czech Republic.
Czech nationality or foreign nationality if the scientist has been working in Czech science for at least one year (more information can be found HERE).
Application deadline: April 30, 2026
