Geography Teachers’ Day 2025: sharing inspiration and modern approaches to teaching
On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Faculty of Science at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem will host Geography Teachers’ Day 2025, offering elementary and secondary school teachers the opportunity to gain new ideas for their teaching. The event is focused on strengthening teaching skills and sharing current trends in geography education.
Participants can look forward to two plenary lectures—on approaches to service geography and the phenomenon of popular geopolitics—and four workshops with different focuses, which will take place in two blocks. The topics on offer include migration, project-based teaching, the interpretation of geopolitical discourses, and the use of web applications and platforms with a geographical theme.
“The aim of the event is to show teachers inspiring methods that they can immediately transfer into their lessons the very next day. We want to create a space for sharing experiences and discussing how current topics and modern technologies can be incorporated into geography teaching,” said organizer Petr Trahorsch, Ph.D., from the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Science, UJEP.
Participation in the event is free of charge.
Registration is open via an online form until November 5, 2025.
More detailed information is included in the first circular. Registered participants will receive further details in the second circular.
