Is feedback the alpha and omega of effective teaching?

The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, UJEP invites all current and future teachers interested in innovative approaches in education to the seminar “Is feedback the alpha and omega of effective teaching?” This seminar is a great opportunity to learn more about how to improve the giving and receiving of feedback, and thus take teaching practices to a new level.

Assoc. RNDr. Stanislav Daniš, Ph.D., will take place on 2 December 2024 at 16:00 in room 1.02 in the building of the Centre for Science and Technology (CPTO), Pasteurova 15, Ústí nad Labem.

Teaching effectiveness and its evaluation have been in the focus of attention not only of teachers for a long time. How to “measure” the “performance” of a pupil/student? How to support it (performance or student)? How to “measure” the “performance” of the teacher? One way to improve the teaching process is to give and receive (formative) feedback. What else has worked well in university teaching will be one of the topics of the seminar.

Doc. RNDr. Stanislav Daniš, Ph.D. works at the MFF of Charles University in Prague and at the Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague, where he is mainly involved in X-ray structural analysis of substances of almost all kinds and numerical methods. He is also interested in university pedagogy and tries to introduce better ways of teaching at universities. In his spare time, he popularizes physics and astronomy, takes photographs, travels and enjoys observing the night sky.

There is no need to register for the seminar. We look forward to seeing you.
