The national finals of the Cyber Competition are celebrating their 10th anniversary. UJEP is hosting both the competition and an exhibition of cyber comics

Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem will host the 10th anniversary national finals of the cybersecurity competition. The finals of one of the most significant educational events in the field of cybersecurity in the Czech Republic will take place on April 22 and 23, 2026, on the UJEP Campus. It will welcome the best students from across the country who have succeeded in the previous rounds of the competition.

“We view hosting the finals and the accompanying Kyber Komiks exhibition at the UJEP Faculty of Science as a significant opportunity. The impetus for their organization came from Dr. Krejčí of the Department of Computer Science, who has long been dedicated to cybersecurity. In addition to faculty and university departments, the Cybersecurity Center is also involved in the preparations,” says the Vice Dean for External and International Relations at the UJEP Faculty of Science, RNDr. Regina Herma, Ph.D.

The Cyber Competition has long supported students’ interest in the field of cybersecurity, develops their practical skills, and connects them with experts from both the academic and professional spheres. Finalists will compete in solving complex tasks focused on network security, threat analysis, and cryptography.

“Cybersecurity is a key competency for society as a whole today. The Cyber Competition helps develop young talent, and we are pleased that UJEP is hosting its anniversary finals. Furthermore, the connection with the Kyber Komiks exhibition demonstrates that this topic can be communicated creatively and clearly,” says UJEP Vice Rector for Development and Digitalization, Assoc. Prof. Vlastimil Chytrý.

In addition to the competition itself, this year’s event will feature educational and professional workshops and a job fair. There will also be an awards ceremony for the accompanying Kyber Komiks competition, which gave young people the opportunity to explore current topics in the digital world through their own lens. Students participated with their original comics reflecting on current cyber threats and prevention.

An exhibition of selected entries from the Kyber Komiks competition will be open to the public from April 22 to June 6, 2026, in the lobby of the Center for Natural Sciences and Technical Fields (CPTO) at UJEP. It will offer visitors a unique perspective on cybersecurity issues through the eyes of the younger generation.

The exhibition is intended for the general public interested in modern technology, education, and security in the digital space. It will be open to the public free of charge in the lobby of the CPTO building every weekday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
