Dean of the Faculty of Science of UJEP honoured eight students for the year 2024
A total of eight awards were presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Science of UJEP, Assoc.prof. RNDr. Michal Varady, Ph.D., during the third ceremony of the Dean’s Awards for 2024. The awarded areas were physics and chemistry, geography, mathematics, informatics and teaching and popularization of natural sciences including mathematics and informatics. The ceremony was part of the assembly of the academic community of the Faculty of Science of UJEP and took place on 18 December 2024.
The Dean’s Prizes of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of UJEP are awarded by the Dean of the Faculty to students or recent graduates of the Faculty as a premium scholarship for outstanding results obtained in the course of the Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis in terms of originality, scientific value or educational and popularization approaches and activities.
The following students were awarded the Dean’s Prize of the Faculty of Science of UJEP for the year 2024 at the ceremony:
Bc. Marek Semančík
for outstanding results in the field of physics and chemistry obtained within the framework of his bachelor thesis on “Optimization of the method of measuring adsorption and desorption of gases on a solid surface”.
Bc. Eva Navarová
for outstanding results in geography obtained in the framework of the Bachelor’s thesis “Perception of urban and rural primary schools in the Czech educational landscape”.
Bc. Michal Konrád
for outstanding results in the field of teaching and popularization of natural sciences including mathematics and computer science obtained in the framework of the Bachelor’s thesis on “The use of computer games in teaching Czech history”.
Ing. František Vondráček
for outstanding results in the field of physics and chemistry obtained in the framework of his master thesis on “Perspectives of the use of microfluidic systems for cytotoxicity tests on 3D cell cultures.”
Mgr. Romana Dlasková
for outstanding results in the field of geography obtained in the framework of her master thesis on “Comparison of the position of geography in the educational system of the Czech Republic and Greece”.
Mgr. Petr Fridrich
for excellent results in mathematics and computer science obtained in the framework of the master thesis “Segmentation of cells in BAL images using machine learning”.
Mgr. Jan Dvořák
for outstanding achievements in the field of teaching and popularization of natural sciences including mathematics and computer science obtained in the framework of his master thesis on “The influence of class differentiation in mathematics classes on school performance”.
Bc. Jakub Kopecký
for outstanding results in the field of mathematics and computer science obtained in the framework of the Bachelor’s thesis on “Automatic detection of anomalies and artifacts in intracranial and arterial pressure signals”.
