
Celebrate International Mathematics Day with us, come to “π Day”
The Department of Mathematics invites you to “π Day”, a fun-filled celebration of International Mathematics Day on Friday, March 14, 2025, on the 7th floor of the Science and Engineering Center building, filled with games, tournaments, origami, and more.
The date was chosen to honor Ludolph’s number, or the number “pi,” which in one of the most common approximations has a value of 3.14 in decadic notation.
The Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of UJEP in cooperation with the Union of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists, p.s. Ústí nad Labem prepared the following program:
Mathematical Town,
Origami,
a mathematics escape game,
Leonardo’s Bridge,
Estimation of the number π,
math game tournaments,
the history of the number π,
and much more.
10:00am-12:00pm We welcome schools and school groups.
2:00-5:00 p.m. We welcome the public – individuals, special interest groups (clubs), families, teachers, students of all ages.
