Wan- Yu from Tai- wan
Studying abroad is always my dream. Coming to Usti is something that I would never think of, but it’s real! I remember first time hearing UJEP is the time I was applying the chance of being an exchange student, the only city I know in Czech Republic is Prague at that time, this city instantly attracted my attention. After doing some research, I decided, I will go there to exchange.
Facts have proved that I made the right choice, life here is truly something I will never forget. In just this semester, I met people from different countries, learned about the local Czech culture, and traveled to many different places around Europe. I also experienced a different way of teaching here than in Taiwan. Students learn on their own initiative, not because of exams. The teacher allows students to learn things in the process of doing homework through different group assignments. They also take us to farms and unpackaged stores for excursion to learn outside the classroom.
The people here are nice and friendly, and coordinator is the nicest person I have ever met. Being the first exchange student from my university, there is a lot of question I don’t know who I can ask, but she always reply so fast and do all she can do to solve my problem. Also the teacher and the classmate, they patiently and carefully explain what I don’t understand to me.
ESN help us a lot with everything. Although my buddy isn’t here when I first come, she still tries her best to help me finish all the procedures. They also organize lots of different activities. Bowling, ice skating, the Czech dinner, trip to Tisá and even more! These activities not only allowed me to get to know more exchange students, but also allowed me to see the life of Czech.
Yours sincerely,
