SP Computer Modelling in Science and Technology (EN) (Ph.D.)
Full-time study / Combined study
Language of tuition: English
Aims of the Study
The aim of the study programme is to educate experts in Physics with a focus on the computer methods used in science and technology. Besides the broad knowledge of mathematics, physics and computer methods acquired in the previous follow-up master’s study, graduates will also acquire in-depth knowledge in the specific selected area of science. Students choose this narrower area of science with approval of their supervisor when creating their individual study plans in compliance with the theme of their dissertation thesis. The study also includes several weeks of internship at a selected foreign university or research institution. During studies, graduates acquire the ability to independently create complex models describing the examined phenomena, to seek and develop suitable methods of solution, to manage their own creative activity, and to present and publish their scientific results at an internationally recognised level.
Graduate Career
Graduates can pursue careers in the academic sphere and other institutions involved in science, research, development and innovations, usually at the positions of post-doctoral science staff at foreign universities, academic personnel at Czech universities and workers of the Czech Academy of Sciences. However, graduates can also find jobs in industry, specialised laboratories and companies dealing with computationally demanding problems.
