Geography Teachers’ Day at the Faculty of Science, UJEP, will offer inspiration for modern teaching

How can we teach about climate change, misinformation and current social issues? What does the curriculum review entail, and what cartographic resources do schools actually need today? The Department of Geography at the Faculty of Science, UJEP, invites geography teachers to a professional meeting to be held on Thursday 19 November 2026 at the UJEP Campus.

Geography Teachers’ Day will provide an opportunity for professional development, sharing experiences and gaining practical ideas for teaching. The programme will begin with lectures on the issue of hydrological drought, using the Všechlapy reservoir as an example, and on new additions to the Kartografie Praha range of school maps.

These will be followed by themed workshops focusing on climate education, high-quality geography teaching within the context of the revised curriculum, and modern approaches to regional geography. The event will conclude with a round-table discussion on the topic: ‘What cartographic resources do schools really need today?’
