The Faculty of Science at UJEP has three new PhD graduates. Congratulations!

The Faculty of Science at UJEP has yet another reason to celebrate! Three graduates from the Department of Physics and the Centre for Nanomaterials and Biotechnology (CENAB) successfully completed their doctoral studies in July and September. Mgr. Jakub Hoskovec, Ph.D., Mgr. Michal Syrový, Ph.D., and Mgr. Václav Harrandt, Ph.D. successfully defended their doctoral theses and have joined the ranks of our graduates holding a Ph.D.

Jakub Hoskovec and Michal Syrový completed the doctoral programme in Applied Nanotechnology. Under the supervision of Prof. RNDr. Pavla Čapková, DrSc., both focused their doctoral theses on the development of advanced nanofibre systems designed for the capture of carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Their aim was to enhance the sorption capacity of these materials and contribute to more efficient gas capture technologies, taking into account current environmental requirements and the development of low-emission technologies.

Václav Harrandt, a graduate of the doctoral programme in Computational Modelling in Science and Technology, focused his doctoral thesis on the development of an electrodiffusion method used to study near-wall hydrodynamics, boundary layers and turbulence, which also finds application in practical engineering contexts. The dissertation was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Ing. Jaromír Havlica, Ph.D., from the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, UJEP.

We warmly congratulate all three new PhD graduates on the successful completion of their doctoral studies and wish them plenty of inspiration, interesting opportunities and further scientific achievements!

You can find out more about their research in articles by CENAB and the Department of Physics.
