From Promoting the Faculty to European Medals: Lenka Bauerová Celebrates Another Success in Rafting

Our PR officer, Lenka Bauerová, is a familiar face at the Faculty of Science at UJEP. Few people know, however, that she is also one of the top rafters in the Czech Republic.

In her free time, Lenka gets into a raft and represents the Czech Republic—and very successfully at that. She brought home three bronze medals from this year’s European Rafting Championships.

The European Championships took place on the wild Vrbas River near Banja Luka. The natural course in the Tijesno Canyon is one of Europe’s most technically demanding venues—strong currents, large waves, and minimal room for error put even the best crews to the test.

Lenka competed on the women’s national team alongside Anna Kašparová, Karolína Kocmanová, and Lucie Kolátorová. The Czech crew delivered outstanding performances throughout the championship and finished in third place in all three disciplines—sprint, rafting cross, and slalom. They are thus bringing home a full set of three bronze medals.

The entire Czech national team also enjoyed success, bringing home a total of five bronze medals from the championships and securing numerous other top finishes among Europe’s elite. The Czech crews have thus once again confirmed that they belong among the best in European rafting.

We warmly congratulate Lenka on her extraordinary athletic achievement and hope she stays in top form for future races!
