The DIS 2026 International Conference Brought Experts from Around the World to UJEP
From May 31 to June 4, 2026, the 9th annual International Conference on the Dynamics of Information Systems (DIS 2026) took place at the Center for Natural Sciences and Technical Disciplines (CPTO) of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at UJEP. This academic conference followed in the footsteps of previous editions held in Europe and the United States and focused on current topics in the fields of information science, optimization, operations research, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.23
During the five-day program, dozens of academic presentations were delivered, covering both the theoretical aspects of information systems and their practical applications in various fields of science, technology, and society. The program included plenary lectures by leading international experts, thematic sessions, and opportunities for discussion and establishing new research collaborations.
Among the conference’s keynote speakers were Dr. Panos M. Pardalos, Prof. Peter Richtárik, and Dr. Roman Belavkin, who presented current research trends in the fields of optimization, network systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
The conference was organized by a team of experts from the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Science, UJEP, led by Assoc. Prof. Hossein Moosaei and Assoc. Prof. Zbyšek Posl, with the support of an international program and organizing committee. An important part of the event was also the social program, which introduced participants to the North Bohemia region and provided further opportunities for informal meetings and professional discussions.
Hosting the DIS 2026 conference also contributed to the development of international contacts and strengthened the Faculty of Science at UJEP’s involvement in international scientific collaboration.
“We are very pleased that we were able to welcome leading experts from many countries to UJEP and create a space for sharing knowledge and forging new partnerships. Such gatherings underscore the importance of international collaboration for the further development of science and research,” said RNDr. Regina Herma, Ph.D., Vice Dean for External and International Relations at the Faculty of Science at UJEP.
