MATun – Innovation Exchange 2026: Platform for new ideas and collaboration

On March 25, 2026, an innovation exchange took place at the Faculty of Science of UJEP as part of the project “MATun – World of Materials – Universities Together”. The unique forum, opening a space for meetings between Czech and Saxon representatives from the ranks of scientists, companies or practitioners, offered the opportunity to present the latest findings in the field of new materials and modern technologies and discuss their practical use.

Topics with real impact
The projects presented included a wide range of innovations that provided inspiration for specific applications and opportunities for potential cooperation. These included topics such as: soft magnetic materials and innovative solutions for hydrogen, generative manufacturing processes for lightweight structures, nanofiber membranes and 3D printing for high-temperature resistant materials, as well as thermal coatings, laser speckle photometry and hybrid bioceramics.

New opportunities for cooperation
The exchange made it possible to establish new contacts and create a basis for joint projects between the research and industrial sectors. Many discussions brought the promise of future cooperation that will strengthen cross-border knowledge exchange and faster transfer of research into practice.

Thanks to the organizers and exhibitors
We would like to thank all the organizers, exhibitors and partners for their contribution to the success of the event. The diversity of technologies and openness to new ideas brought many incentives for further cooperation.

MATun Project
The acronym MATun hides the name of the project "World of Materials - Universities Together" approved by the Monitoring Committee of the EU Interreg Program "Cross-border Cooperation between the Free State of Saxony and the Czech Republic" in November 2023. The lead partner of the three-year project, thematically focused on materials research, is the Faculty of Science of the UJEP. Its project partner is the Institute of Materials Science of the Technical University of Dresden, a prestigious workplace cooperating with research institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institute.
