The Innovation Exchange will bring together science, research, and industry. Come and find inspiration and make new connections

Networking, collaboration, and innovation—these are the main pillars of the Czech-Saxon Innovation Exchange focused on materials science, which will take place on March 25, 2026, at the Faculty of Science of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.

The event is part of the “World of Materials – Universities Together” (MATun) project and will offer a unique space for scientists, developers, company representatives, and industry experts to meet. The goal is to support cross-border collaboration and accelerate the transfer of innovations into practical applications.

Do you work in the field of materials research, additive manufacturing, lightweight structures, or medical technology? Are you developing new functional materials, material systems, or innovative manufacturing and design concepts for technical and biomedical applications? Or are you interested in sustainable energy and chemical technologies and modern analytical and surface technologies?

Then the Innovation Exchange is your platform, where you can learn about the latest technologies, establish valuable contacts, and identify future trends early on.

A space for new ideas and collaboration

The Innovation Exchange offers the opportunity to:

discover innovative solutions in the field of science,
initiate further development,
find suitable partners for research and application projects,
share research results and bring them closer to practical application,
draw inspiration from new trends and technologies,
establish valuable international contacts.
The event is primarily intended for researchers, company representatives, executives, and technology transfer specialists.

Cutting-edge technologies and current topics

The program will feature presentations and meetings with experts from leading institutions such as TU Dresden, the Fraunhofer Institute, TU Chemnitz, and many others.

Visitors can look forward to topics such as:

additive manufacturing and 3D printing,
lightweight structures and new material systems,
biomaterials and medical applications,
hydrogen technologies and energy,
nanomaterials and sustainable technologies.
Czech companies and research institutions will also participate, presenting specific innovations and opportunities for collaboration.

The Innovation Exchange on Materials Science will take place on March 25, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the 2nd floor of the Center for Natural Sciences and Technical Disciplines (CPTO) building.

Participation is free.

The “World of Materials – Universities Together” (MATun) project was approved by the Monitoring Committee of the EU Interreg Program “Cross-Border Cooperation between the Free State of Saxony and the Czech Republic” in November 2023. The lead partner of this three-year project, which focuses on materials research, is the Faculty of Science at UJEP. Its project partner is the Institute of Materials Science at the Technical University of Dresden, a prestigious institution that collaborates with research institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institute.
