On November 5, 2025, the Faculty of Science at the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem hosted two major events dedicated to artificial intelligence. As part of the nationwide AI Days 2025 festival, the AI for uni and AI for edu conferences were held, attended by nearly 170 participants, including academics, teachers, students, experts, and representatives of institutions.
The AI for uni conference took place at the UJEP Multifunctional and Information Center and focused on the transformation of higher education, research, and institutional management in the age of artificial intelligence. The program offered panel discussions, sharing of best practices, and expert contributions from Czech and foreign experts. Topics discussed included:
the use of AI in higher education and the promotion of creativity and individualization of learning,
the potential of AI for more efficient university operations,
academic ethics, integrity, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence,
universities’ experiences and strategies in implementing AI.
The AI for edu conference, held at the Center for Science and Technology, focused on the use of artificial intelligence in primary, secondary, and higher education. The aim was to offer teachers and teacher training students inspiration, practical tools, and a space for sharing experiences.
The program included:
lectures and panel discussions on the impact of AI on learning, assessment, and student motivation,
practical workshops with specific AI applications,
sharing of best practices from school practice,
networking connecting teachers, schools, and the academic sphere.
The regional partner of the event was the Innovation Center of the Ústí Region (ICUK).
Both conferences took place as part of the AI Days 2025 festival, which aims to bring artificial intelligence closer to the general public and show its practical benefits for education, research, and everyday life. The festival is organized by the Czech National AI Platform (CNAIP) in cooperation with the CzechInvest agency’s Technology Incubation project and the AI for Children organization. The general partner is Google, and the main partner is Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
The events received very positive feedback from participants. Teachers, academics, and professionals particularly appreciated the practical focus of the programs, the high professional level of the speakers, and the opportunity to openly discuss topics that are currently shaping Czech education and universities. Participants highlighted the benefits of the workshops, the networking opportunities, and the overall atmosphere of the events, which encouraged the sharing of experiences and mutual inspiration. Many saw the conferences as an important step towards deepening their AI skills and appreciated the initiative of the Faculty of Science at the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně in organizing these professional events in the region.
