Professor Pavla Čapková among the pioneers of Czech nanotechnology

The article “Czech Women in Nanotechnology: Pioneers of the Microworld”*, published by AllNews.cz and the Czech Nanotechnology Industry Association, introduced extraordinary personalities who are pushing the boundaries of Czech science, research, and innovation. Among them is Professor RNDr. Pavla Čapková, DrSc., from our faculty, a renowned expert on nanomaterials and a long-time inspiration for generations of young scientists.

Professor Čapková works at the Center for Nanomaterials and Biotechnology (CENAB), where she conducts fundamental research into the properties of nanomaterials and their practical applications. Her work contributes to a deeper understanding of the behavior of substances at the nanometric level and has implications for a number of areas, from industrial innovation to biomedicine.

The author of dozens of publications and citations in leading international journals, she is also an important mentor and deputy head of CENAB, helping to educate a new generation of Czech nanotechnologists. She is actively involved in international research projects and has long been strengthening the position of Czech science in the global nanotechnology community. Professor Čapková is not only a scientist with enormous professional expertise, but also a personality who connects science, teaching, and cooperation across institutions. Her work shows that cutting-edge research can also be conducted in regional centers and can have a global impact.

The article also points out that Czech female scientists are among the pioneers of the global nanoworld – from the development of revolutionary nanofiber masks to applications in medicine and sustainable technologies. Pavla Čapková is thus rightly ranked among the personalities who are shaping the present and future of Czech nanotechnology.
