UJEP invites to the Day for Social Security in the Region

Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem invites everyone to the Purple Auditorium of the UJEP in Ústí nad Labem on 7 May, where the Day for Social Security in the Region will take place. The event will open up important topics that concern the whole society through panel discussion and debate.

This year’s themes are:

‘Do men really not cry?’
Myths about mental health and suicide

The topic of mental health is still shrouded in many myths. One of them is the idea that ‘a good man doesn’t cry.’ But how do these expectations affect the psyche of men? Why do they make up the majority of people who take their own lives? And how can we as a society encourage a more open approach to mental health for all?

This panel discussion will focus on the taboo of emotions, approaches to mental health care, and specific ways to prevent suicide.

How is the definition of rape changing in the Czech Republic?

What exactly does ‘NO means NO’ express? How is the definition of rape changing and what impact will the new crime of sexual assault have? Come hear and discuss the changes in the law that are changing the way we view sexual violence in this country.
The discussion will focus on why the redefinition was necessary, what challenges it will bring to practice, and what it means for each of us.
