
Celebrate Earth Day with us at UJEP
On Tuesday, April 22, we will celebrate ‘Earth Day’ together at the whole university, the selection of events and activities is varied, you will definitely choose one too! At CPTO there are expert lectures and other accompanying programmes not only for schools, in the UJEP Canteen you can have an environmentally friendly lunch and chat with the UJEP Sustainability Manager, and in the evening you can go to the Border Guard for a moderated debate on climate.
PROGRAMME AT CPTO:
Our faculty together with the Faculty of Environment of UJEP has prepared a rich programme from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, especially for primary and secondary school students, but it is also open to the general public and individuals can come without prior registration.
We have invited experts from among our academics, as well as practitioners, specifically from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. The following lectures will take place in Auditorium 1.04 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm:

The accompanying program to the lectures will be held in the respirium on the 5th floor of the CPTO:
Interactive climate quizzes with Climate Ambassador doc. Trögl from the Faculty of Environment of UJEP (in case of good weather in the Amphitheatre of UJEP).
Accompanying competition for teams of five ‘Survive!’ led by Lukáš Wilda, student of the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, UJEP.
‘Mini’ discussions between experts and students.
At 12:00 p.m. in the lobby of the CPTO will be held the opening ceremony of the competition exhibition of photographs, which resulted from the evaluation of the expert jury of UJEP from the photographic competition ‘Earth and Climate’.
From the 22 photographs selected by the UJEP jury you can choose the 3 best photographs by online voting, whose authors will receive nice prizes in the form of vouchers to ALZA.cz, ForRest Café and ePultik.cz. You can vote until 2 May 2025. You can see the exhibition until the end of May.
In addition to the rich indoor programme at CPTO and UJEP, you can join the Faculty of Education at UJEP and the Egea Ústí nad Labem Association in cleaning up our Campus. More information can be found HERE.

11:00 – 14:30 A more environmentally friendly menu in the CPTO UJEP Canteen
A range of meals with a lower environmental impact compared to the regular menu. There will be one vegetarian and one vegan dish to choose from, as well as two meat-friendly dishes.
12:00 – 13:00 Lunch with the Sustainability Manager of UJEP, Lounge at the UJEP Canteen
Informal lunch meeting with the Sustainability Manager of UJEP – dr. (Lunch is ordered and paid for by each participant.)
