On 15 October 2024, in cooperation with the AI for Children initiative, the Innovation Centre of the Ústí nad Labem Region and the Region to University, University to Region project, we organised an innovative conference on artificial intelligence in education. The conference was a part of the nationwide AI Days organised by the Czech National AI Platform (CNAIP), in which the Ústí nad Labem Region was involved for the first time.

The conference was intended for educators of all levels of education, students of teaching and other interested persons working in the education sector. AI 4 Edu offered a rich program including lectures with leading experts in the field of AI and education, practical workshops focused on the use of AI in various subjects and disciplines, a panel discussion on the future of education in the era of artificial intelligence and, of course, networking and the opportunity to make new contacts.

Among the speakers were current experts on AI in education, such as Eva Nečasová from the AI for Children initiative, who, among other things, presented the concept of the upcoming AI curriculum and introduced the audience to new developments in AI education. Josef Šlerka from the New Media Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University introduced the concept of pair learning with artificial intelligence. Martin Richter, co-founder of Aignos, provided practical advice for creating rules for using AI in education.

The Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem was represented at the conference by Michaela Liegertová, Vice Dean for Development and Quality of the Faculty of Science, UJEP, who focused on the changing roles of teachers and students in the era of generative artificial intelligence.
