We planted 1,100 saplings in honor of the UJEP graduates

For the fifth year in a row, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem has been organizing the volunteer event “Planting Trees for UJEP.” Every year, students and university staff plant one tree for each UJEP graduate from the previous academic year. This year, the event took place on April 29, and we were there too.

This initiative connects sustainability with academic life as part of the university’s corporate social responsibility activities. Every newly planted tree is not only a symbol of our graduates’ success but also a benefit to the environment. Together, we are improving air quality, supporting biodiversity, and contributing to a more pleasant environment in our region for both us and future generations.

This year’s event took place on April 29 in the vicinity of the village of Malé Chvojno. On behalf of UJEP graduates, we planted 1,100 young beech trees this year. The weather was on our side this time, and the entire event was accompanied by a wonderful atmosphere, which you can get a taste of through the video by Daniel Augustin.

We wish our graduates—and the little saplings as well—that they may take root firmly and have plenty of strength for their continued growth.

We look forward to next year!
