Conference on teaching practices to be held in February at CPTO

We invite primary and secondary school teachers to attend the Conference on Teaching Practices, which will take place on February 11, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Center for Science and Technology Education (CPTO). The aim of the conference is to bring together the perspectives of teachers who lead teaching practices, students, and subject didactics on teaching practices.

Provisional conference program:
Matouš Bořkovec (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports) et al.: Reform of teacher training, competency framework, and accompanying teachers: The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports’ perspective on changes in teacher training implemented and being implemented in recent years in cooperation with universities, accompanying teachers, and other stakeholders. Emphasis will be placed on the development of teaching practices and the fulfillment of the Competency Framework for Teacher Education Graduates, including prospects for the future.

Tereza Cimová (Faculty of Science, Charles University, didactician and mentor teacher): The aim of the lecture is to share experiences related to systematic work with mentor teachers at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. An integral part of this collaboration are regular reflective meetings that support professional development and mutual communication. The lecture will offer a perspective from both the didactician and the accompanying teacher and will open up space for discussion on effective support and further development of accompanying teachers.

One goal, three perspectives: Finding a common language in pedagogical practice (subject didactics at the Faculty of Science, University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně): The aim of the workshop will be to use discussion activities and stimuli to connect the perspectives of accompanying teachers, students, and didactics on the course of pedagogical practice. The aim will be to create an inspiring environment for all three groups involved and thus understand their expectations and possible obstacles.

Each participant will receive a certificate of completion.
