Digital Technologies and AI for the Digitalisation of Healthcare: DIGITECH, a New Project at the Faculty of Science, UJEP

In DIGITECH, we utilise advanced digital technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance the digitalisation of healthcare, focusing on diagnostic and therapeutic processes.
In our research, we focus primarily on
(i) providing a deeper insight into the diagnostic data from intensive care units and using full information for further clinical decisions,
(ii) increasing the automation of postoperative treatment and activities in musculoskeletal surgeries and
(iii) improving cognitive therapy for seniors with dementia by using digital technologies, VR and SMART devices.
Besides research activities, our research teams develop and implement various software solutions and build specialised data repositories that are used throughout the project. Moreover, these publicly available repositories enable other researchers and developers to create and test their solutions on high-quality, standardised data, thus accelerating innovation in digital healthcare.
The project is implemented and coordinated by the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, with research activities carried out by the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Health Studies, in cooperation with Bulovka University Hospital, Syntropiq, s.r.o., and the Velké Březno Care Home.
