Lecture “The secrets of tardigrades” tomorrow at CPTO
We cordially invite you to a lecture by Izabela Poprawy, Ph.D., on microscopic creatures from the Tardigrada phylum, known as tardigrades. Their resilience is breathtaking: they survive drought, radiation, extreme temperatures, and even the vacuum of space.
The lecture will take place on Wednesday, September 17, at 3:30 p.m. in lecture hall 1.04 in the Centre for Natural Sciences and Technologies (CPTO) building.
In her lecture, Dr. Izabela Poprawa will focus on the biology of these creatures, their importance for biotechnology and medicine, and will also present the Tardigrade Space Travel and Yeast TardigradeGene projects, carried out as part of the Polish “Ignis” mission to the International Space Station.
The lecture will be held in English.
