Remote Physics Experiments Laboratory: Physics accessible from anywhere
One of the other areas of research and teaching at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, UJEP, is the Remote Physics Experiments Laboratory, which allows students and teachers to conduct experiments online, from anywhere and at any time – 24/7.
There are currently four experiments available:
- voltage-current characteristics of LEDs
- series resonance circuit
- damped and forced oscillations
- mathematical pendulum
The entire system is connected to the ISES server solution, which ensures user-friendly control and high availability.
The laboratory has seen a significant increase in interest, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the number of visits increased by up to 300%. This unique approach to education has been recognized by the Global Online Laboratory Consortium (GOLC) with a prestigious award in the Remotely Controlled Laboratory category.
The laboratory’s achievements have been presented at international conferences, such as REV2018, where presentations such as Hands-on-Remote Laboratories and Arduino and ISES hands-on-remote physics laboratories were given.
These experiments are not only a valuable tool for modern physics education, but also part of a global network of remote laboratories that help open up the world of science to new generations.
