The conference will launch the project ‘Vocationally oriented studies in the border region’
02The Faculty of Science of UJEP is the lead partner and together with the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of UJEP is participating in the project ‘Professionally oriented studies in the border region’ (‘PraStud’). This Czech-Saxon project is aimed at linking theory and practice in higher education and aims to support the establishment of dual studies, i.e. linking studies with practical experience in the field.
We are also cooperating with the Technical University of Liberec and in particular with the Duale Hochschule Sachsen, which is an inspiring example of a functioning dual education system. We have a long history of cooperation with this institution.
The project is funded by the Interreg Czech-Saxony 2021-2027 programme.
Launch conference
One of the first outputs of the project is the launch conference, which will take place on Friday 11 April 2025 in Radebeul, Germany, at the Tagungszentrum der sächsischen Wirtschaft. The programme will include expert contributions from academics, presentations of examples of dual education already in operation, as well as thematic workshops and a final discussion.
In particular, the conference will focus on:
the opportunities and challenges of dual higher education,
the needs of the labour market and their translation into study programmes
and the development of cross-border cooperation between universities and employers.
