Team ROBUL will participate in the “Kick-off Event” in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, at the beginning of 2025!

On Friday, January 3, 2025, part of the ROBUL team and mentors will travel to Microlab in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, for the “Kick-off Event”, the most watched event before the global FIRST Robotics Competition.

These “events” are held in dozens of locations around the world, especially in the USA. Eindhoven is the only European venue for this event. Any FIRST competition team can enter, and our ROBUL team must not miss out. The aim is to follow together the teams of the worldwide assignment and conditions of the competition for the year, presenting the competition arena and game elements. Immediately afterwards, there will be a joint analysis of the information, first design proposals, prototyping, sharing experiences from previous editions and exchanging ideas for building and programming robots. On Sunday, teams head back home to continue working independently on building their robots and thoroughly prepare for the FIRST Robotics Competition. Our ROBUL team of thirteen high school students from the Ústí nad Labem region will participate in this competition at the end of March in Denver, Colorado, USA.

The ROBUL team has been meeting since October at the Faculty of Science of the UJEP. Under the supervision of experienced mentors from the Faculty of Science of the UJEP, the Innovation Centre of the Ústí nad Labem Region, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the UJEP, the Secondary School of Construction and Technical Education in Ústí nad Labem, the College of Packaging Technology and the Secondary School in Štětí and an expert from the field, they are constructing, assembling, designing and programming to prepare for the FIRST competition in the USA. The mentors share their experience, advise, teach and help, but the team members must be able to construct, program and learn to control the robot to overcome all the obstacles and game elements, and within the time limit.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the ROBUL team to bring back as much knowledge and experience as possible from the “Kick-off Event” and successfully represent our region in Denver, USA in March 2025.
