SP Geography for Education (Bc.)
Full-time study
The study programme is the first stage of preparation for the teaching profession. In order to achieve full competence for the teaching profession, the graduate must continue in a follow-up Master’s degree in teaching (e.g. Teaching Geography for Secondary Schools at the UJEP). The study programme includes general geographic education (physical geography, social geography, regional geography, cartography and basics of geoinformatics) and pedagogical and psychological disciplines. Geography is combined with other subjects – mainly within the Faculty of Science (biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics), the Faculty of Arts (history, political science, German language and literature) and the Faculty of Education (physical education, English language). Although the study prepares primarily teachers of geography, the graduate profile also allows for the possibility of continuing non-teaching studies in geography or direct employment in the labour market.
