The Faculty of Science at UJEP is hosting the international conference “DIS 2026”
The Faculty of Science at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem will host a major international scientific event—The 9th International Conference on the Dynamics of Information Systems (DIS 2026)—at the end of May and beginning of June 2026. The conference will take place from May 31 to June 4, 2026, at the Center for Natural Sciences and Technology (CPTO) on the university campus.
DIS 2026 builds on a successful series of conferences held in Europe and the United States and focuses on current challenges at the intersection of computer science, mathematics, economics, and engineering. Key thematic areas include information science, optimization, operations research, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science, as well as their practical applications.
The conference will provide a platform for leading experts from both academia and industry from around the world to meet. The program includes expert lectures, presentations of research work, and discussions on current trends in modern information systems and artificial intelligence. Among the invited plenary speakers are, for example, the world-renowned optimization expert Dr. Panos M. Pardalos (University of Florida), Dr. Peter Richtárik (KAUST), and Dr. Roman Belavkin (Middlesex University).
The conference is organized by a team of experts from the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Science, UJEP, led by Assoc. Prof. Hossein Moosaei and Assoc. Prof. Zbyšek Posel. A broader international program committee composed of leading scientists from Europe, the U.S., and other countries is also involved in the preparations.
The conference will take place at the modern CPTO facilities, which provide state-of-the-art venues for scientific gatherings of this kind. For a few days, Ústí nad Labem will thus become the center of international scientific discussion on current and future research trends in the fields of information systems and artificial intelligence.
The significance of the conference extends beyond the academic sphere and also has an important regional dimension. It brings experts from abroad to Ústí nad Labem and simultaneously creates opportunities for collaboration between the university and industry partners, particularly in the fields of data analysis, optimization, and artificial intelligence. These fields are of growing importance for modern industry and public administration and open up new opportunities for the transfer of knowledge into practice.
