International experts at UJEP: The wonders of physics and nanomaterials for talented students

The Center for Science Education Support at our Faculty of Science is proud to announce that we will welcome two leading scientific experts from September 15 to 19, 2025. Their visit will take place as part of the prestigious CEEPUS international program, which supports student and teacher mobility across Central and Eastern Europe.

The guests will focus not only on their research fields, but also on the important topic of supporting talent and developing interest in natural sciences among pupils and students.

Who are our guests?

The first guest is Assoc.Prof. Sergej Iľkovič, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences at the University of Prešov in Prešov. Docent Iľkovič is a renowned expert on the magnetic and thermal properties of solids. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, he specializes in the development of didactic systems that facilitate the teaching of physics and support students’ experimental skills.

The second guest is Prof. Dr. M. S. Gaur, Ph.D., from Hindustan College of Science and Technology in India. Professor Gaur is a recognized expert on nanomaterials, their chemical synthesis, and their use in modern technologies. His groundbreaking work focuses on polymer nanocomposites that serve as biosensors for the detection of pesticides and heavy metals.

Open workshops and discussions.

“We are extremely honored to welcome two such outstanding experts to our faculty,” said Kateřina Jančaříková, head of the Center for Science Education Support. “Associate Professor Iľkovič will present his innovative measurement system, which develops experimental skills in science subjects, while on Friday, both guests will discuss with our teachers how to effectively support scientific talent.”

The meetings are open to all interested students, academics, and the general public, until the rooms are filled to capacity. If you are interested in the program, please do not hesitate to request details.
